WMG's SME Team undertook a project with Digital Native Academy Ltd and Walsall Museum to create a 21st century 3D printed clone of one of the centuries old Bayard's Colts.
A fly-through video of WMG's Battery Materials Scale Up Line. The facility will enable electrochemists to create full-size prototype battery cells using novel chemistries without having to rely on battery manufacturers to make the larger cells.
WMG's facilities provide a one-stop-shop for the development of new battery chemistries from concept to fully proven traction batteries, available in sufficient quantities industrial-scale testing.
In 2013, the Edinburgh International Festival was wowed by the 'Leonardo da Vinci: Mechanics of Man' exhibition. Collaborative work between WMG and Warwick Medical School created translucent 3D plastinations for the exhibition that use Leonardo Da Vinci's original drawings of the human anatomy. The exhibition, which ran until November, saw the drawings, which are over 500 years old, side by side with plastinations, 3D scans and a translucent 3D heart.
A virtual tour of WMG's new Energy Innovation Centre which comprises a battery characterisation laboratory plus abuse testing chambers and an electric / hybrid drives test facility. The Centre will include a £13m Battery Chemistry Scale-Up Pilot Line which will be the only one of its kind in the UK.
Bridging the Knowledge Transfer Gap in Services - KT-Box is an innovative £2.2 million project funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). It involves six universities -- Bath, Cambridge, Cranfield, Exeter, Nottingham, and Warwick -- working together with industry partners BAE Systems, Bombardier, IBM and Rolls-Royce to develop practical tools and techniques to support organisations in the design, delivery and deployment of industrial services.
HAT is a £1.2m multi-disciplinary project funded by the Research Council's UK Digital Economy Programme. It involves a team of 16 researchers from the domains of Economics, Business, Computing and the Arts across six UK universities of Cambridge, Edinburgh, Exeter, Nottingham, Warwick and the West of England.

The research aims to provide a set of requirements / specifications of a visualisation to show scenarios -- 'the whole' rather than 'the parts'—of how issues in a technological-enabled society are dynamically related, i.e. how entities, individuals, institutions, laws, and risks dynamically interact within the virtual realm.

Students with learning difficulties and disabilities at Hereward College in Coventry have expert knowledge of disability and what assistance is needed by young people living with disability. This project is about enabling them to tailor the design of tools and accessories to their own requirements and to investigate how they can share their designs and expertise with the wider community. By providing this opportunity we aim to raise aspirations of Hereward students towards studying Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) areas.
WMG has a dedicated SME Programmes Team, led by Dr Mark Swift. The team links SMEs directly with the research and emerging technologies available at WMG. The team recently completed the International Institute for Product and Service Innovation programme which was part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund
