Description

This online open database offers a selection of documents produced by Venice’s labour movement in relation to Porto Marghera’s fertiliser factories “Fertilizzanti” and “Azotati”, giving particular attention to struggles against workplace noxiousness and disputes around environmental pollution, especially the dumping of industrial waste into the Adriatic Sea. The documents come from the Federazione Italiana Lavoratori Chimici ed Affini (FILCEA) Fund of Istituto Veneziano per la Storia della Resistenza e della Società Contemporanea (IVESER). The open database is an output of Dr Lorenzo Feltrin’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Fellowship “LabEcoInt - Labour & Ecology in an International Perspective: Porto Marghera in the Phosphates Archipelago”, HORIZON EUROPE CALL: HORIZON-MSCA-2022-PF-01, G.A. n. 101103735. The full dataset can be downloaded through the zipped folder or each page can be viewed on this platform. All documents were uploaded as JPEG files. Documents dating back less than forty years were anonymised, with the exception of names of people exercising their public functions.
